Google’s Take on Your Landing Page

With Google being one of the biggest online companies in the world, you will really have to stop and listen to what they have to tell you when it comes to your squeeze or landing pages. They have valuable nuggets of wisdom that can give you more savvy in your internet marketing business.

Google’s first tip for squeeze pages is to keep your objective in mind. You need to ask yourself the following questions: Are you for sale? Are you going for a lead? Or are you going for download? These are just three of the things that you can do with your squeeze page.

Another tip is for you to refer to specific keywords. Offers call to action on your landing pages. Free download sounds more appealing to people than any other flashing prose in their computer screens.

But when they get to your site with the hope of getting a free download and you require them to opt-in, it’s not free. We can debate that but probably a better way to go about that is to say, subscribe for free download or subscribe for download. This leads to the next tip which is make your ads as clear as possible.

Make you landing page navigation simple and help people get what they want. Don’t create obstacles and sure that people can get back to Google by clicking the back button and sure that you don’t have a popup or pop under on the landing page.

Now, Google’s definition of a popup or pop under is only when a new window opens. So the dynamic HTML fly-ins, slide-ins those are okay because the new window does not open. It is part of the existing webpage and you can use those to boost your sales.

For specfic opt-in pages, Google advocates that you keep your sign up simple as possible. Always go for the very minimum of what they could fill up. And after that you must also make sure that you give them something of equal or greater value for the information they give you.

In a nutshell, Google’s guidelines states that if your squeeze page is just squeezing them to a sales letter, you can get in trouble there. So you really must strive to offer a little bit of value of free downloads or free lessons.

Of course, notwithstsanding the fact that you are an internet marketer, those free five lessons can be disguised as informational sales letters. Subtlety is key to your success.

Clearly, there are just so many landing page approaches to choose from. You can go direct to merchant or earn via the Google cash method. You can send people to the review page where it basically reviews different products and compares them. You can do the pre-sell then squeeze. You can do the squeeze then pre-sell. You can also squeeze your way to merchant or download.

Whatever method you choose, just make sure you are not violating any rules and that you are really giving something of value as much as you are receiving valuable information. While you can get sales from deceptive means in making people opt-in, it is the element of trust that makes you get to keep your customers.

Traffic Building Using Co-Registration

Co-registration is a way of buying subscribers into your newsletter. Basically, it begins when you develop a small ad, you get it placed on a newsletter directory and people go to these directories to find specific newsletters that cover material that they want to subscribe to and read about.

With this, they select your newsletter to subscribe to you and then you pay for that person in the newsletter directory for exposure. It’s kind of like a newsletter directory - an Ezine directory except you’re paying for them to expose you to their various means that they expose people to.

The other thing about co-registration is that when people are signed up with you, they have also signed up for your competitors. So the ultimate challenge to you as an internet marketer is to harness ways to stand out amidst your competitors. It pays to be outstanding in an environment with no advantage of exclusivity.

Another thing remotely related to this is having Warm and Cold Associates, also known as the referrals from your joint ventures. Referrals are when people saw your newsletter, they like what they saw and they refer to other people to sign up to the newsletter and then expose through signature lines.

Exposure to signature lines can also happen in a couple of different ways — if you’re on forums, if you chat, or any kind of means that you go to that you speak in a public way.

Then there are always the profiles that you can fill out that say your name, where you’re at, and what your interests are. That’s a really good place to put in your information so that when you’re online and you’re being exposed, the people can access your information without hassles. That’s an instant network for you.

Co-registration can work for you only if you use it effectively. One of the things that you want to make sure is that you are aware of is the check on the pricing. The pricing must be something viable enough, something you can afford to lose for now but with a guaranteed return of investment.

In a typical co-registration process, you are going to pay per subscriber. So, the key to all of this is you get not only a subscriber at an affordable price but a good subscriber. It’s really easy to fill up your newsletter with a bunch of garbage subscribers. A big list is useless if no one is buying, though.

In terms of security in your co-registration, it will do you a lot of good to read more about them. Make sure that you’re dealing with a reputable company. You want to test for quality, failure and duplications. What this means is that a lot of people go to these sites, they want the information and they put junk emails in there which don’t do you any good.

Also, before you subscribe to a co-registration service, make sure that the autoresponder service that you use doesn’t allow imports. If they do, you need to find out how they allow them. You must make sure that the company that you use is supplying you with gather information when that person has requested your newsletter.
